There is NO wrong way to birth your baby....It's no secret that doulas love birth. We love reading the latest research around birth, we love helping couples prepare for their birth, and we especially love attending births. But let's make something clear...
We love birth for all that it is and for all that it isn't. We love birth for the deep desire that we see in birthing people to keep their baby safe. We love birth for the vulnerable place that it takes all of us. We love birth for the magic, the transcendence, the mystery! We don't only love supporting women without an epidural, just like we don't only love supporting those with an epidural. We love to hear about and attend births where a birthing person is surrounded with support, encouragement, and given full informed consent. That's what we love and stand for. Our agency's philosophy is that there is NO wrong way to birth your baby AND we believe that birthing people do whatever they have to do to birth their baby! That's right! No matter what kind of birth a mom initially wants or thinks she'll have, all birthing people that we've met and worked with, in the end, do what they have to do to birth their baby. Deep down, on both sides of the spectrum, those who birth in the middle of stream, surrounded by wildflowers want the best for their baby... and the same goes for women who choose to or by necessity, birth their baby on the operating table, surrounded by medical personnel. YOU DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO BIRTH YOUR BABY! Our philosophy and teaching, through childbirth classes and doula services, encourages families to do what works in your unique birth. Those who hire us to be their doula team will learn coping techniques that will get you through the intensity of birth, no matter how it unfolds for you. 💞🌱 #selfcompassion pass it on.
